My Self

My name is Waris. Every one call’s me Romo Waris because I am a priest and call name to a priest is romo. In Javanese mindset waris have meaning lucky. May be my parent give me name waris with a hope so that I have lucky in my life.

I was born in Tumpakrejo – Malang at September 1th 1977. I am first born child from three brothers. I have one brother and one sister. Now I called uncle because my sister just born her son. I am happy while called uncle.

I live in my village until 15 years, exactly until graduate from junior high school. Pass of junior high school I continued my study in seminary. Seminary is place to educate the priest candidate. I undergo education to be priest as long 13 years. I graduate to be priest at 2005.

As a priest I must live in monastery. Live in monastery that very happy because our live will be regulated nicely. Live with a regulated nicely will make us health. Of course we will find some priest live in unregulated nicely. May their job make them live like that, but part of all priest live in regulated nicely.

Orderliness live can be find in daily schedule. I the morning we must wake up at 04.30 and take a bath. At 05.00 we must come together in a chapel to held prayer and daily Mass. After that we have to come together in a dining room to breakfast. After breakfast we held our job. Some priests go to school to teach or work in library like me, some priest work in secretary room and the other priest work in garden or kitchen.

In the mid day we come together in the chapel again to held prayer. After that we lunch.  After lunch we have free time to take a rest and some time to self develop. At 19.00 we come together again to prayer and continued with dinner. After dinner we get time to recreation with play card or watching television. After that we take a rest. This schedule will be held every day and become our habit.

I believe that good habit will make a good character and good character will make a good person. I am happy because have a good schedule that make me a good habit. Thank God for this live.
